Connect has confirmed a date to prepare and serve a meal to families at the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Only 12 spots are available, as a result, please confirm your spot immediately by emailing Sal and Carmella Prestia at prestia2423@comcast.net.

Sunday, April 19 we will head to Bull Park in Atlantic Beach for a brown bag picnic. This park is equipped with playgrounds, tennis courts, lawn areas, and the beach! Join us after the second service. Paper products and kids drinks will be provided. See you around noon!

Coffee and Fellowship

Join us for Coffee and Fellowship on Friday, March 27 at 7PM at Shelby's Coffee Shoppee in Atlantic Beach. This is an open house type of event, so feel free to support local businesses and eat at the beaches town center, and then join us for fun!

LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO SERVE?

We are a busy group. Between careers, family, hobbies, and just life in general there is little time to spare. We are spread so thin that adding another event often seems daunting, yet we know that giving of our time is important, especially to God. If you are looking for a place to serve, but are struggling to find the time, how about coming to church an extra 15 minutes a few Sundays per month, and being a door greeter? Greeters are the first impression of the church, and have the potential to provide comfort and reassurance of God’s love.

What is required of you?
· A smile
· Pass out bulletins
· Wear church attire
· And provide information

Testimony: During my semester in London, I contacted a church via email and within a day, I had a response and someone to sit with at church the next Sunday. When I walked into church that Sunday, I was greeted by multiple smiling faces (and not the fake kind) offering their support and help for me and my “new person” status. I probably looked like a fish out of water, and they knew how to make me feel comfortable. Soon after I was greeted by my church contact, and had a new friend at church. From here I plugged into a bible study and established more friends at the church.

While Connect is a great way for us to build relationships with those our own age, it is also important to help others connect with the church and ultimately Jesus. A greeter is an amazing way to give of your time, your smile and offer someone what Jesus has already given you.

CONNECT CHRISTMAS, NIGHT OF LIGHTS

Friday, December 12, 2008, Beaches Chapel Connect will meet at the church at 6 pm to caravan to St. Augustine for the Night of Lights. It is guaranteed to be a beautiful time, as we walk through the canopy of trees and lights in this historic city. This is an all ages Connect event, so bring your Connect age co-workers, neighbors, friends and even your kids. Nursery will not be provided for this event, but we know your kids will love a walk through the winter wonderland, as will you.
If you are able to join us for the entire evening, we plan to walk around and then proceed to dinner at Creekside Dinery.

We plan to be back at the church by 10PM at the latest. If you are able to join us for the entire evening or just part, please RSVP to connect@beacheschapel.com by Monday, December 8, 2008.

Friday, November 14th is our Trivia Night in the little chapel from 7-9PM. Put on your thinking caps, as it is certain to be a challenging but fun experience as James McDonald will MC and prepare all of the questions. Nursery and light snacks will be provided.
